On 8 July, the opening ceremony of the summer exchange program for Vietnamese university and high school students hosted by the School of International Education of KUST was successfully held, to enhance learning and exchanges between university and high school students of China and Vietnam, improving understanding and friendship, and promoting cultural exchanges and integration between the two countries.

At the opening ceremony, the head of the School of International Education extended a warm welcome to the 28 Vietnamese teachers and students who came from afar, introduced the history of KUST, characteristics of disciplines, as well as achievements of international exchanges and cooperation, and emphasized that China and Vietnam are geographically adjacent and culturally interconnected, friendly cooperative relations between the two countries have been developing continuously, hoped that through this program, Vietnamese students would have a more in-depth understanding of China and Chinese culture, teachers and students of the two countries could be better build a bridge of academic exchanges and friendship, and constantly promote cooperation and exchanges between the two countries in the field of education.

The exchange program will carry out a 21-day series of courses including Chinese language teaching, language practice, Chinese culture experience, and practice experience for Vietnamese students, enabling them to experience the charm of Chinese characters and the joys of excellent traditional Chinese culture.

The exchange program is conducive to improving the Chinese language application level of the Vietnamese students, enabling them to appreciate the beauty of excellent traditional Chinese culture, experience the local customs of Yunnan, and promote the exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and Vietnamese civilizations. The School of International Education will uphold the original intention of “telling Chinese stories and spreading Chinese voice well” and welcome more international teachers and students with an open and inclusive attitude.
