On December 28th, Wang Wei, from China Representative Office of AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH UST), and his delegation visited Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), to discuss affairs concerning Chinese-foreign cooperative education and interface with KUST about the newly declared cooperative programme between the two universities. Yi Jianhong, Vice President of KUST, attended the meeting with the heads of the Division of International Cooperation (DIC) and the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FMEE) joining in the meeting.
Yi Jianhong warmly welcomed the arrival of Wang Wei and his delegation, and expressed his gratitude for their support and assistance to KUST in the course of the programme application. Yi said that the application for the programme with AGH UST is based on the full use of the leading disciplines and majors in the FMEE, and was thoroughly studied by KUST, which will greatly improve the development of KUST’s foreign cooperative education and its international education level. At the same time, he also expressed his hope that both universities would take the programme as a starting point to communicate and work with each other in other fields like teaching modes, teaching research, and teaching management, so as to make common progress.
The two sides communicated in detail about the application progress of the newly declared programme and the current examination and approval process by the Ministry of Education, and sorted out work urgent to be implemented in the near future and important time nodes. They also raised a prospect on the idea of KUST’s establishing Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions in the future.
DIC and FMEE negotiated deeply and specifically on the content and terms of the implementation agreement. In the end, Yi Jianhong made an invitation for AGH UST to further communicate and discuss the specific issues concerning the programme application.
