On September 15th, the School of International Education (SIE) arranged for all teachers and students of the High-quality Chinese Education Training Programme in China for High School Students of Thailand (HCETP) to experience traditional Chinese sports.
The activity focused on learning and experiencing the traditional art of Chinese archery. The students learned about the history and development of the art of archery through mastering its postures and etiquette, and experienced the fun of archery. Touhu or the game Pitch-pot was also involved on the site. In the process of pot pitching, the students learned briefly that it is a kind of throwing game, and a game with serenity and etiquette which plays an important part in the ancient Chinese etiquette culture.
The activity helped Thai students experience traditional Chinese sports and have a further understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
