On the afternoon of September 6th, the tenth joint training programme for overseas undergraduates majoring in Chinese between Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) and Ubon Rajathanee University (UBU) was held as scheduled. Teachers from the School of International Education (SIE) at KUST and UBU, as well as the 26 UBU undergraduate students majoring in Chinese attended the opening ceremony. The 26 Thai students will study Chinese for one year at the Chenggong Campus of KUST.

At the opening ceremony, the head of SIE welcomed the arrival of the 26 Thai students, hoping that both sides could continuously deepen cooperation and make greater achievements in teaching, scientific research, talent cultivation and other aspects, and gave a detailed explanation of the teaching plan and arrangement of the programme. UBU affirmed the curriculum arrangement and the teaching quality at KUST and hoped that both universities could develop more cooperative programmes and make long-term teaching achievements.

It is reported that the joint training programme carried out online teaching during the academic years of 2020 to 2022. With the active communication of the heads of both sides, offline teaching resumed this year. For many years, KUST and UBU have maintained friendly exchanges and established a deep friendship. Since 2011, KUST has cumulatively received 204 students majoring in Chinese selected and assigned by UBU.
