On August 18th, the School of International Education organized all 70 teachers and students from the 2023 Chinese Language Training Programme for Thai High School Students to go to the Yunnan Nationalities Village.
The study tour aimed to explore and experience Yunnan’s ethnic minority culture and to promote a sense of integration and unity among different ethnic groups. The Thai students were led to visit 25 minority villages, such as Dai, Naxi, Wa, Hani, etc. They had the opportunity to learn about the diverse architectural styles, the ways of production and life, the culture of costumes and etiquette, and the religious customs of these ethnic minorities. Through this first-hand experience, the students gained a deeper understanding of the bright future of ethnic unity portrayed by the ethnic minorities in the border areas of Yunnan under the leadership of the Party and the Country.
Through this study tour, the Thai teachers and students had a deeper understanding and direct experience of the rich and colourful ethnic cultures of Yunnan. They expressed that they would make full use of the opportunity, make great efforts to learn the Chinese language, and explore the diversified Chinese culture to lay a foundation for their future study in China after high school graduation.
