On the afternoon of 12th August, the China-Laos Art Performance & Chinese and Lao College Students’ Party at the Port Station, jointly hosted by KUST and Souphanouvong University Confucius Institute, was successfully held at the Boten Railway Station (the Port Station), the Lao section of China-Laos Railway. KUST and Souphanouvong University Confucius Institute respectively prepared some wonderful art performances featuring their own national characteristics, showing the international tourists the local cultures and customs of the two countries.
The show began under the orderly organization of the passenger crew at the Boten Railway Station. Students from Souphanouvong University presented a dance performance of the Lao ethnic groups including Lao Sung, Lao Theung, and Lao Loum while students from KUST performed poetry recitation and Chinese songs for the audience. Chinese knots, Chinese postcards, bookmarks with Chinese poetry, Chinese storybooks, Lao candies, and Lao wooden paper books were presented to the passengers as souvenirs.
This event is another cultural performance after the Chinese Art Performance held at the Luang Prabang Station of China-Laos Railway. China-Laos Art Performance & Chinese and Lao College Students’ Party at the Port Station has demonstrated the cultural characteristics of China and Laos to the passengers, enhanced the “people-to-people bond” between Chinese and Lao people, and enriched the cultural connotation of China-Laos Railway as a road to development, happiness, and friendship.
