On the morning of June 30th, the 2022 pre-departure safety training was held for students and teachers heading to study abroad by the Division of International Cooperation (DIC) of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST). The training was held both online and offline, gathering twenty-four online participants and one hundred and three offline ones who were about to study abroad.
Liu Yang, a teacher from the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering was invited to provide professional instruction in the training. She focused on hot issues like studying overseas in post-pandemic era, consular protection, fraud prevention, legal assistance, career planning, and study-abroad experience.
The staff of DIC elaborated on the characteristics of studying abroad in the post-pandemic era from the perspectives of philosophy, culture, history, and international relations. In addition, they explained various methods and characteristics of telecommunication fraud with specific cases, helped overseas students to identify and prevent fraudsters, and further improved security awareness and skills.
