On the morning of June 28th, an online information session was held specially for the prospective international students from Myanmar by the School of International Education, together with Yunnan International Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation Center, Guohe International Business (Yunnan) Co., Ltd., and its subsidiary Guohe Education (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. The event was to promote the school’s international student admission work in Myanmar.

In the session, the vice dean in charge of international student admission at the School of International Education introduced the development and accomplishments of KUST in recent years, especially those related to international education. Through his presentation and the university’s promotional video, he shared details about school facilities, campus life, scholarships and self-funded programmes for international students, majors involved, application requirements, and admission procedures. He also answered questions from prospective students and their parents.

More than two hundred people participated in the online session via various platforms. The information session was also live-streamed via the video account of Guohe International Business (Yunnan) Co., Ltd.. More than forty-three thousand viewers got access to the information.

For a long time, the School of International Education has been committed to promoting cooperation between the university and industries and stabilizing the number of international students studying in China against the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the work of international students. It has signed the Cooperation Framework Agreement on International Talent Training as well as the Agreement on Jointly Setting up a High-Quality Student Base with Yunnan International Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation Center, Guohe International Business (Yunnan) Co., Ltd., and its subsidiary Guohe Education (Myanmar) Co., Ltd. This information session was the first international admission publicity that has been jointly held for specific countries since the tripartite cooperation. It provided a good platform for Myanmarese students to know about KUST and its admission policies for international students entering China. The event also played an important role in promoting KUST’s reputation and influence in Myanmar and opening up the international student market in Myanmar.
