On September 26, KUST held the kick-off meeting and project verification meeting of "Demonstration of Comprehensive Utilization and Integration of Solid Waste in Nonferrous Metal Industry Cluster along the Belt and Road", a key project of "Solid Waste Recycling" of the national key research and development program.
Deputy Director of the Global Environment Division of the Administrative Center for China’s Agenda 21 of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China ZHONG Ping (online), KUST's Vice President SHU Hongchun and YANG Bin, and second-level researcher GAO Zhong ofSocial Development Science and Technology Division, Yunnan Provincial Science and Technology Department attended the meeting. A total of more than 50 relevant participants attended the meeting. They are the project advisory group of experts includingResearcher LI Huiquan fromthe Institute of Process Engineering(IPE), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),Researcher HE Fayu fromChina Minmetals Corporation, Senior EngineerWANG Haibei fromBeijing General Research Institute of Mining & Metallurgy, SeniorEngineer Song Xingchengfrom Yunnan Tin (Group) Co., Ltd., Prof. HOU Haobo (online) of Wuhan University, Prof. WU Fuzhong of Guizhou University, SeniorEngineer CHEN Jiaxi fromChina Copper Group Holding Co., Ltd., SeniorAccountant SU Linli from Yunnan Provincial Academy of Science and Technology and project team members.
On behalf of KUST, Vice President SHU Hongchun delivered a speech, welcoming all the distinguished guests and congratulating the opening of the meeting. He hoped that all participating units and project members would cooperate sincerely to ensure the success of the project. KUST will also make every effort to keep the project running smoothly, strengthen the project management, oversee the administration of project funds and do the coordination work. GAO Zhong extended his welcome and thanks to all the experts and representatives at the meeting. ZHONG Ping expressed his warm congratulations on the launch of the project, introduced the specifications and requirements of "Solid Waste Recycling", and emphasized that the project team in terms of supervision should make standard procedure clearer, strictly manage the use of funds, and strictly monitor project progress to achieve assessment indicators. WANG Zhuhai, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Life Science and Technology, introduced the general administrative measures of the university's major scientific research projects and the financial management measures.
The project leader Prof. ZHANG Libo of KUST, sub-project leaders Prof. LIU Dianwen and Prof. XU Baoqiang, Researcher DAN Zhigang and Senior Engineer YANG Wanzhang respectively made detailed reports on the research objectives, research contents, assessment indicators, implementation plans and mutual cooperation between the projects. The expert group gave pertinent proposals and suggestions on the project and subject.
It is reported that the project is led by KUST, bringing together leading units in this field, including Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, IPE, CAS, Guangdong Institute of Resources Comprehensive utilization, Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Co., Ltd. and Kunming Metallurgical Research Institute Co., Ltd., combined with four demonstration enterprises including Yunnan Tin Group, Yunnan Chihong Zinc and Germanium Co., Ltd., Yunnan Aluminum Co., Ltd. and Kunming Dingbang Technology Co., Ltd..
