Environmental Protection and Ecological Tour for KUST International Students

From July 12th to 13th, the social practice activity of "Experience China--Yunnan Environmental Protection and Ecology” was held in Kunming Baicaoyuan Science Popularization Education Base.This activity wassponsored bytheChina Scholarship Council, undertaken by KUST and co-organized bytheYunnanProvincialAcademy of Science and Technology. KUST invitedinternational studentrepresentatives whohave been supported by Chinese government scholarships to participate in the activity. These students came from Congo, Tajikistan, Sudan, Pakistan, Zambia, Sierra Leoneand other countries.

Thisactivity is closely related to thefifteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP15) that willbe held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. With the theme of "Ecological Civilization: Building a Shared Future for All Life on Earth",international students visited the South Yunnan Materia Medica Botanical Museum and theBaicaoyuanScience Popularization Museum of Soil and Water Conservation. They allwere able toactivelyparticipatein this practical seminar.

During the visit, theinternational studentslearned the application of modern science and technology in constructing ecological civilization. Theyobserved the harmonious development of science and technologyalongsideenvironmental protection. At the seminar,international studentswere also able tocarefullystudy General Secretary Xi Jinping’s letter replying to Peking Universityinternationalstudents, shared their feelings about Yunnan's ecological protection, and gave a good evaluation of this activity.

This activityshowed Yunnan's effortsin ecological environment protection tointernational students. It also gave them a deeper understanding of the development of China's modern science and technology in the field of ecological civilization construction,a fieldwhich helps global biodiversity protectionwhile proposing to jointly build a bright future of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
