On April 29, 2026, Juan Carlos Izquierdo,  Delegate for International Promotion at Spain’s Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), paid a visit to Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST). Vice President Jiang Yehua met with him at Chenggong Campus.

Both sides agreed on in-depth exchanges on Sino-foreign cooperative education, faculty and student exchanges, and scientific research cooperation. After the meeting, Juan Carlos Izquierdo visited the key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing Technology on campus.
