The Chinese Language and Culture Study Camp for High School Students from Chiang Mai, Thailand, officially opened at Kunming University of Science and Technology
On April 7, the Chinese Language and Culture Study Camp for High School Students from Chiang Mai, Thailand, officially opened at Kunming University of Science and Technology. Sixteen teachers and students from Chiang Mai will embark on a 19-day journey of language learning and cultural immersion in Kunming.
At the opening ceremony, the project coordinator from the School of International Education extended a warm welcome to the Thai participants, introducing the university’s internationalization initiatives and the achievements of China-Thailand educational cooperation. It is hoped that through this study camp, the students will experience the richness of Chinese culture in an immersive way and become “youth ambassadors” for cultural exchange between China and Thailand.

During the study camp, the Thai teachers and students will engage in systematic Chinese language courses and explore local communities to experience everyday life and local customs. They will also have the opportunity to learn traditional Chinese arts such as calligraphy, painting, and paper-cutting. In addition, the group will visit historical and cultural landmarks in Kunming and its surrounding areas, gaining firsthand insight into the rich ethnic diversity of Yunnan.

This program adopts a dual-track approach combining language learning and cultural exploration, aiming to enhance the Thai students’ Chinese language proficiency and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.
