The 5th Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual Week: A Trip to Explore "Beautiful China - A Many-Splendored Life in Yunnan" Delegation Visits Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence in Yunnan Province

On June 18th, the 5th Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual Week: A Trip to Explore”Beautiful China - A Many-Splendored Life in Yunnan” delegation visited Kunming University of Science and Technology and the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence in Yunnan Province. More than 40 guests, including ministerial, departmental, and bureau-level leaders, as well as accompanying personnel from 9 countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan, attended the event. Tang Jiahua, Chair of the University Council of KUST, attended the event.



Tang Jiahua extended his warm welcome to all the guests. He introduced the work being carried out by KUST for South and Southeast Asia and expressed that KUST would further strengthen friendly cooperation with South and Southeast Asian countries and make contributions to the construction of Yunnan as a radiation center towards South and Southeast Asia.



Professor Mao Cunli from the Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence in Yunnan Province gave a detailed introduction to the research and achievements of the laboratory in speech and language processing for South and Southeast Asia and conducted on-site exchanges with the guests.



All guests highly appreciated the achievements of the laboratory, believing that it provides strong technical support for the exchange of culture and tourism in South and Southeast Asia and has broad application scenarios. They are willing to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the laboratory and KUST.


Tang Jiahua, on behalf of KUST, exchanged souvenirs with the guests and took group photos.


Heads of the Faculty of Information Engineering and Automation attended the event.


It is reported that the 5th Lancang-Mekong Audiovisual Week series of activities co-hosted by the National Radio and Television Administration of China, the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam, and the People’s Government of Yunnan Province opened in Kunming on June 17, with the aim of further strengthening cooperation among radio, television, and online audio-visual media in the Lancang-Mekong region; building consensus on cooperation between radio, television, and audio-visual media in South and Southeast Asia; and promoting civilization dialogue with South and Southeast Asian countries.
