On the morning of June 21, the School of International Education of KUST held the Southeast Asian Food and Culture Festival “Tasting Thai Cambodian and Laotian Cuisine, Appreciating the diverse cultures of Southeast Asia” in the Hengyuan student community of Chenggong Campus. More than 500 students, teachers, and international students from Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Pakistan, and other countries participated in the festival. Vice President Yi Jianhong came to the festival and interacted with teachers and students to taste the food and appreciate the culture together.

At the festival, international students from Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia made and displayed the most representative cuisines of their countries, including Thai Tom Yum noodles, Laotian fried pork, Cambodian beef salad, and so on. The festival fully demonstrated Southeast Asian flavors of food, allowing everyone to experience the culinary characteristics of different countries. The students also performed traditional dance and music for an immersive multi-culture experience.

The activity provided a culinary feast for teachers and students, promoted multi-cultural exchanges, and made a positive contribution to the construction of a harmonious campus cultural atmosphere.
