This visit aimed to bolster further cooperation between KUST and the University of Arkansas in the fields of Logistics Engineering education and research, to ultimately enhance the educational quality of Logistics Engineering (a Chinese-Foreign cooperative education programme) offered by the Faculty of Transportation Engineering.

During the visit, Professor Li Jiemei and other teachers from the Department of Logistics Engineering engaged in discussions with Professor Kent on the fruitful research cooperation. Both parties acknowledged the vast potential for enhancing research collaboration in supply chain management by leveraging Yunnans distinctive geographical advantages and its pivotal role in the agricultural product supply chain. Additionally, they delved into discussions surrounding the execution of a Chinese-foreign cooperative education programme in Logistics Engineering, exploring talent cultivation models, current challenges, and the prospects for future cooperation.

On the afternoon of June 6th, Professor Kent delivered a lecture to the teachers and students from Chinese-foreign cooperative education programme in Logistics Engineering. Starting from his research areas, Professor Kent elaborated on the food safety system of poultry supply chains, covering various dimensions such as information exchange, logistics transportation, inventory management, and capital allocation. Afterwards, he introduced the pivotal role of supply chains in the development of retail enterprises through practical cases, providing new insights into the teachers’ studies and the students’ career planning. In a subsequent interactive Q&A session, Professor Kent addressed students' queries regarding logistics knowledge and global supply chain management.

This academic exchange has strengthened the mutual understanding of both sides, which marks a tangible step forward in bolstering the internationalization of the Chinese-foreign cooperative education programme of Logistics Engineering.
