Recently, the short video, the China-Laos Friendship Bound by Zongzi, directed by Dokkeo CHANTHALASY, a student of KUST Confucius Institute at Souphanouvong University, won the third prize in the 2023 CI Moments Global Short Video Collection Event, according to the 2023 Confucius Institute Day.
The short video is not just about the culinary traditions wrapped in Zongzi but the friendship passed down through the ages. It reflects the friendship bound by Zongzi between Chinese and Lao people and embodies the remarkable accomplishments of KUST Confucius Institute at Souphanouvong University in teaching the Chinese language and spreading Chinese culture, which brings Chinese and Lao people closer together and fosters a more profound friendship.
KUST Confucius Institute at Souphanouvong University is a renowned international Chinese institution that reaches nine regions in northern Laos. The Confucius Institute not only teaches Chinese but also routinely hosts events celebrating traditional Chinese festivals such as the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival. To introduce the traditional Chinese culture and the spirit of Chinese to more Chinese language fans across the world, it offers a platform for overseas students from Laos to learn about China via the development of short videos and on-site experience.
