On 28th August, “Mekong-Lancang Exchange Program in Science and Technology through Close Collaboration among Universities” (one of the projects of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund Project (2020)) was formally launched. At the same time, the Launching Ceremony & Promotion Meeting of the Cooperation between Mandalay Technological University (MTU) and KUST was held, with teacher representatives of the Division of International Cooperation, the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Information Engineering and Automation, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Mechanics, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering, the Faculty of Science, and the School of International Education of KUST attending the meeting online.
At the meeting, the representatives gave a detailed overview of KUST and its foreign cooperation and exchange, as well as some basic information on and the cooperation intention of the seven faculties involved in the cooperation project. Before the conference, the Division of International Cooperation and the seven faculties had carried out communication and exchanges with Mandalay Technological University multiple times. The success of this conference marks the official launch of the cooperation between Mandalay Technological University and KUST. In the future, the two universities will continue to carry out online academic exchange activities. Besides this, KUST plans to organize some of its outstanding teachers and students to go on a trip to Mandalay Technological University for academic exchange at the end of this year, so as to promote academic, scientific and technological development.
Mandalay Technological University, under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Myanmar, joined the “Mekong-Lancang Exchange Program in Science and Technology through Close Collaboration among Universities” in 2020. The program aims to enhance the scientific and technological strength of the Lancang-Mekong region by fostering talent and promoting lifelong learning through close cooperation between Myanmar and China in the field of science and technology. The main objectives of the project include building networks and partnerships between students and universities, providing cross-cultural learning experiences and opportunities to conduct joint research, and raising the students’ interest in global issues.
