On June 9 local time, KUST signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua-Managua (UNAN-MANAGUA). Rodriguez, President of the National University Council of Nicaragua and President of UNAN, Hao Kun, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Yunnan Province, Zhou Yi, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Nicaragua, and responsible persons of KUST School of International Education, other members of the Yunnan Provincial Government delegation as well as local teachers and students attended the signing ceremony.

Rodriguez said that Chinese and Nicaraguan universities will cooperate in some aspects including the construction of Confucius Institutes, teacher-student exchanges and scientific research in the future, thus promoting deeper and more practical exchanges of higher education between China and Nicaragua.

Hao Kun hoped that through sincere cooperation and in-depth exchanges, China and Nicaragua will make more fruitful achievements in more fields.

After the signing ceremony, officials of both sides went on a field trip to inspect the venues and conditions of the operation of the Confucius Institute.

The signing of this MOU on cooperation broadens the cooperation and exchange channels between Chinese and Nicaraguan universities, and provides a platform for promoting friendship between China and Nicaragua and cooperation between Yunnan Province and Nicaragua.
