During the summer holiday, Ball State University in the United States offered free online international courses to the outstanding students of KUST. Thirty-three students from eleven colleges (including the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Cultures, the Faculty of Management and Economics, City College, the School of International Education, the Faculty of Information Engineering and Automation, etc.) took the courses.

The summer courses lasted for two weeks with a total of six lectures. The lectures were specially given around various professional fields including English language learning, computer science, and business management. With a well-designed curriculum, being both professional and interesting, the summer courses were welcomed by students. The courses enabled students to have a more comprehensive understanding of the relevant professional fields and break through the fixed single-discipline mindset, all while enhancing their ability to solve international, diversified, and systematic complex problems.
Ball State University, founded in 1918 in Muncie, central Indiana, is a well-known public university in the United States.
