From August 14th to 20th, the 13th China-ASEAN Youth Camp 2022, sponsored by the All-China Youth Federation (ACYF) and hosted by the Yunnan Youth Federation, was held in Yunnan province. Two international students from Thailand and Myanmar, and six Chinese youth representatives from KUST participated in the youth camp activities.

The theme of the China-ASEAN Youth Camp was “Uniting the Strength of Youth to Build a Prosperous Homeland.” The camp members visited Kunming, Yuxi, Honghe, and other places successively, and held the China-ASEAN Youth Development Forum and “the Belt and Road Initiative” Seminar on Yunnan-ASEAN Development. They visited enterprises and industrial parks such as the Mile Industrial Park Enterprise Service Center, the Honghe Cigarette Factory, the Mile Hao Xiang Technology Co. Ltd., and the Yunnan Hong Winery to learn about China’s present stage of development. In addition, they visited the Dongfengyun Art Town, the Bise Village (Mengzi city), and the Ant Workshop to learn about the new impetus for economic development brought by the rural revitalization policies, and the integration of culture and tourism industries. Besides, they visited the Jianshui Confucius Temple and the Jianshui Purple Pottery Museum to experience excellent Chinese culture by participating in immersive activities such as the apprentice ceremony and pottery DIY. Also, they visited the Chanipi Village, where the first CPC Yunnan Provincial Congress was held, to learn about the Red Culture. They also visited the Chengjiang Fossil Museum and the Chengjiang Planning Exhibition Museum, and carried out volunteer services to clean and protect Fuxian Lake, actively practising the philosophy that clean waters and green mountains are just as valuable as gold and silver.
The China-ASEAN Youth Camp is a representative project of youth exchange under the framework of the China-ASEAN cooperation mechanism. Initiated and hosted by the All-China Youth Federation in 2006, it has been successfully held twelve times so far. Nearly one thousand, two hundred youth representatives from ten ASEAN countries in various fields have learned about China and established a partnership with China through this project.
