Joint Training Program for “Chief Translator of Mining Industry”

On the afternoon of June 21st, the Kick-off Meeting and Enterprise Information Session of the Zijin Mining Group’s “Chief Translator of Mining Industry” program was held in the Blue Lecture Hall of the library. More than 280 people attended the meeting, including representatives of teachers and students from the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Cultures (FFLC).



Li Changliang, Deputy General Manager of Luoyang Kunyu Mining Limited Company of the Zijin Mining Group, introduced the group in detail from the perspectives of the developmental history, the enterprise scale, the industrial status, and the organizational structure. He also mentioned the job positions, the requirements and the employee benefits of the “Chief Translator of Mining Industry” program. After the enterprise information session, the representatives of the International Department of the Zijin Mining Group conducted on-site written tests and interviews for the 27 students of the FFLC who had signed up for the program.



The “Chief Translator of Mining Industry” program of the Zijin Mining Group is one of the achievements of the FFLC’s “Visiting Enterprises to Promote Employment” initiative. It is an important attempt to cultivate versatile foreign language talent by relying on KUST’s advantageous resources in the context of the new engineering discipline. By joining hands with the leading enterprises in the industry, the program aims to cultivate highly-qualified, application-oriented talent in foreign languages who can serve the major national strategic deployment and meet the needs of economic and social development.
