From March 25th to April 8th, KUST sent 11 volunteer teachers of international Chinese language education to three overseas Chinese education service institutions one after another. These institutions were the Confucius Institute of Souphanouvong University (CISU) in Laos, the Confucius Institute of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus (CIUC), and the Buyeo High School of South Chungcheong, South Korea.

KUST attaches great importance to international Chinese language education. In order to build friendships between China and other countries, promote mutual understanding, people-to-people exchanges, and the common development of diversified world civilizations, since 2018, a total of 32 international Chinese teachers and volunteers have been sent to 6 countries. These countries include Laos, Thailand, Jordan，and Latvia. They bring Chinese culture to the rest of the world via the Chinese language, build bonds and friendships between people from different countries, and work hard to boost the prosperity and development of international Chinese language education. Most importantly,they have become better people themselves in the process.  

One of the volunteers at CISU said, “A volunteer is not only a language teacher but also a cultural messenger. I believe that my work and life in Laos can hone my Chinese teaching skills while allowing me to experience a different life and become a more inclusive person with much more empathy.” Volunteers at CIUC and South Korea all said that being a volunteer is a great learning and life experience, which can deepen self-esteem and character，leading to a lifelong treasure.
