On June 21, President Xi Jinping’s letter to international students in Peking University (PKU) produced a warm response among the KUST international student community. They all agreed that they need to have a deeper understanding of the real China, share their ideas and experiences with more people, and play a positive role in promoting people-to-people bonds in all countries.
HU Na is a PakistaniPh.D.candidate from the Faculty of Material Science and Engineering. She said, “After reading President Xi Jinping's letter to the international students of PKU, I learned that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. Sino-Pakistan friendship will continue. I hope that when I return to Pakistan, I can share about my experiences in China and tell other Pakistanis about the changes in China as well as the friendship of the Chinese people. May the friendship between China and Pakistanlast forever.”
LI Ming, a student from Tajikistan, expressed that his life has changed a lot in the past few years in China. After realizing that this year is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, he wished for China to become an even stronger and more beautiful country.
SHI Zi, a Pakistani student majoring in Software Engineering from the Faculty of Information Engineering and Automation, showed his happiness after reading President Xi Jinping's letter. He said, “I am very happy because it is a letter from the general secretary of China to all international students. During the pandemic, I saw the courage and solidarity of the Chinese people in the face of the pandemic. I hopeI have the opportunity to learn more about China so that through these experiences I can help my country develop better when I return homein the future.”
CHEN Xiaohua, a Malagasy student majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from the School of International Education, said: “I love China very much. I have been to many places in China. I have a video camera that captured the scenery I have seen and the friends I have made in China. I am very happy to be in China. I wish the Communist Party of China a happy 100th birthday.”
LI Honghui, a Thai student studying for a Ph.D. in Renewable Resources Science and Technology from the Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering, spoke of how excited he was after reading President Xi Jinping's letter on the Internet. “Like other foreigners who study in China, I have learned more and more about my classmates, teachers and the university through my life in China. China has changed a lot, and these changes are visible. I can feel that Chinese students and teachers are very concerned about us international students. Recently, Chinese students and teachers around me have been seriously learning the history of the Communist Party of China. Now, I also will share my life and study in China with my family and friends. I hope China will continue to make progress under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.“
