From March 11 to 14, WANG Hua, the president of KUST and the head of the Group of the Prevention and Control of the COVID-19 Pandemic at KUST, checked the COVID-19 prevention work around KUST. He visited key areas of KUST, including more than 10 faculties and security offices on three campuses, affiliated primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and student dormitories. He also urged staff to inspect the pandemic prevention and control, student management, and logistical support.

During his inspection, WANG emphasized that during the current period all departments must fulfill their responsibilities and prioritize taking concrete action on all the decisions and strategies about pandemic prevention and control. In addition, he emphasized it was essential to take various measures to ensure safety education for students, having timely information on their studies as well as their mental and psychological situations, in order to give more care to them.

WANG put forward seven requirements regarding pandemic prevention and control for KUST. First, heads of all departments and those in charge of student work must further promote their political stance and awareness of the overall situation, keeping their responsibilities in mind, and implementing specific pandemic prevention and control measures more strictly and concretely. Second, there must be a renewed focus on tracking the movement of faculty members, social service providers on campus, and the parents of students in affiliated kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in order to conduct rigorous monitoring and closed-loop management. Third, express delivery and logistics vehicles must be restricted in terms of their driving routes so as to avoid any possible imported infections. Fourth, the system of inspecting student dormitories must be fully implemented inkeeping students from staying out all night in order to ensure that every student is safe. Fifth, the system of a daily personal report to stop infections must be continued to track all the health and movement information of students and faculty members. Sixth, safety education for students must be kept up in order to strengthen the safety awareness of students and teachers. Seventh, heads of all departments must fulfill their duty and visit students in classes and dormitories as they are the first people responsible for pandemic prevention and control.
