At 10:00 am, December 18, Confucius Institute co-established by KUST and Souphanuvong University(Laos) held the first session of the 4th Council Meeting on the Lianhua Campus of KUST. The meeting was conducted through online video and hosted by the head of the School of International Education.

Vice President MA Wenhui delivered a speech at the conference. He hopes that the council members of both sides uphold the principle of mutual trust and win-win cooperation, and offer advice and suggestions for the construction and development of the Confucius Institute, so as to achieve fruitful results and form our own features. The meeting focuses on the Confucius Institute's work report for 2020 and work plan for 2021, and briefs on the changes in the membership of the council of both sides.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the founding of Laos and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Laos. And the cooperation between KUST and Souphanuvong University of Laos has entered its 12th year. Confucius Institute has been running for two years. Confucius Institute has played a positive role in meeting the needs of Chinese learners and improving the quality of Chinese education.
