
On January 25th, Airuishen alumni network (Cuaa.Net), a national third-party institution for the evalution of universities, officially released their 2022 CUAA Chinese Universities Ranking List—The Guide for Applying to Preferred Colleges. This is the 20th consecutive year for the institution to release the rankings and the results will be published by Science Press nationwide. Compared to 2021, KUST is up two places to 55th on the latest list, topping all other universities in Yunnan Province. This progress is proof of the recent years’ outstanding achievements in disciplinary building, talent cultivation, teaching staff formation, scientific and technological innovation, social services, etc.. Moreover, it also indicates thatthe comprehensive strength and overall running of the school of KUST are continually improving, laying a solid foundation for the Double First-Class construction and high-quality development.
The evaluation index system for 2022 CUAA Chinese Universities Ranking List includes 12 first-level indicators: ideological and political education, distinguished alumni, quality of teaching, high-level personnel, preponderant disciplines, research achievements, research bases, research projects, social services, school-running level, public reputation and international influence. Additionally, the system is oriented to serve the Double First-Class initiative and improve colleges’ ability to facilitate economic and social development both at the national and local level. The system covers more than 700 evaluation indicators of the core functions of Chinese colleges and also for the first time posed the indicator of a high contribution Chinese scholar.
On the 2022 CUAA Chinese Universities Ranking List, the top five universities are Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University and Wuhan University. According to the list, universities included in the Double First-Class initiative occupy the predominant positions. Thirty-seven of these are among the top 50 universities.
