Ranking of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award in 2016-2019: THU Ranked Top 1, KUST Ranked Top 10

From 2016 to 2019, which university in China boasted the largest number of scholars who won the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award? Which universities are among the top 20 on the list of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award for Chinese Universities in 2016-2019?

 

In June 2020, Cuaa.Net, a national third-party organization focusing on evaluating and advisory services of universities, released the latest “CUAA’s Fifth Prospective Analysis Report on Discipline in 2020”, based on China’s first free “CUAA’s All-round Comparative Analysis and Dynamic Monitoring of Discipline Level of Chinese Universities Commonweal Advisory Project”.

 

This report released the rankings of CUAA’s Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award for Chinese Universities in 2016-2019 and the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award for Disciplines of Chinese Universities in 2016-2019. Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Beijing Institute of Technology are among the top 3 on the first list.

 

Clinical Medicine of Peking University, Clinical Medicine and Shanghai Jiaotong University, Physics of University of Science and Technology of China, Chemical Engineering and Technology of Sichuan University, Transportation Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University, and many other disciplines are tied for the first place on the second list.

 

Noteworthily, in the past four years, three scholars from KUST have won the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award, which crushed many universities listed in the “Double First-Class” initiative and made KUST one of the top 10 in the ranking of this award.

 

Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award for talents in scientific and technological fields is well-acknowledged in China.

 

Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award is set up by the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, China’s largest non-governmental fund in the science and technology field, aiming to reward scientific and technological personnel with outstanding achievements and major innovations, and promote the development of science and technology in China. The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award includes Prize for Scientific and Technology Achievement, Prize for Scientific and Technology Progress, and Prize for Scientific and Technology Innovation.

 

As a science and technology award with a large scale, high level, and profound influence, the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award enjoys authority and credibility both in China and the rest of the world. It is one of the important evaluation indicators in the discipline monitoring, final acceptance, and assessment for universities listed in the “Double First-Class” initiative, the Fifth Discipline Evaluation by the Ministry of Education, and the Ranking of Chinese Universities by CUAA.

 

CUAA’s ranking of Ho Leung Ho Lee Award for Chinese Universities in 2016-2019 is based on the number of scholars who have won this award in the past four years. It aims to provide an authoritative reference for all sectors to fully understand the comprehensive strength, high-level personnel training ability, research level, and competitiveness of Chinese universities in 2016-2019.

According to the report, from 2016 to 2019, 8 scholars from Tsinghua University won the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award, ranking the first in the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award for Chinese Universities in 2016-2019. Other universities in the top 10 are Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Sichuan University, Air Force Medical University, Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Kunming University of Science and Technology.

 

Noteworthily, KUST stands out among the universities that have not been listed in the “Double First-Class” initiative. In the past four years, three scholars have won the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award. The outstanding ability to cultivate high-level talents and are among the top 10 in China, which paves the way for the next evaluation of the national “Double First-Class” initiative. Also, Capital Medical University, Naval University of Engineering, Shenzhen University, Hunan Agricultural University, Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Wenzhou University, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology and other universities from provincial “Double First-Class” initiatives are also on the award list, with one winner each.
