Prof. HU Xiaosong Appointed as Honorary Dean of KUST Faculty of Agriculture and Food

On June 16th, the appointment ceremony to inaugurate for Prof. HU Xiaosong as Honorary Dean and a visiting professor of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food was held on Chenggong campus of KUST. President WANG Xueqin, Vice President YANG Bin and Vice President XIA Xueshan attended the ceremony, together with more than 100 teachers and students including heads of the President’s Office, Development Planning Department, Personnel Department, Educational Administration Department, Academy of Sciences, Asset and Laboratory Management Department and Faculty of Agriculture and Food.

 

 

President WANG Xueqin congratulated Professor HU Xiaosong on his being appointed as Honorary Dean and a visiting professor of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food. He required the Faculty of Agriculture and Food to provide positive support for Prof. HU Xiaosong’s research work, combining the requirements of the national agriculture modernization and the development of green industries of Yunnan Province, targeting local characteristic development and promoting the overall development of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food.

 

Prof. HU Xiaosong expressed his sincere gratitude for his being appointed as Honorary Dean, and said that it was a great honor for him to participate in the development of KUST. He and his team will work jointly with all the other colleagues and make contributions to the future development of the Faculty of Agriculture and Food.

 

President WANG Xueqin awarded the appointment letters of Honorary Dean and the visiting professor for Prof. HU Xiaosong and a KUST badge for him. Vice President XIA Xueshan awarded the appointment letter of the visiting professor to Prof. ZHENG Hao, a professor of China Agricultural University in Prof. HUs team.

 

Prof. HU Xiaosong is now a professor and a doctoral supervisor of College of Food Science and Nutritional Engineering, China Agricultural University, and he is also Vice Chairman of the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, a member of the State Food and Consultant Committee, a member of the Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Education, and Director of National Engineering Research Center for Fruit and Vegetable Processing. He has been engaged in the research of fruit and vegetable storage and processing theory and technology, development of ultra-high pressure food processing technology and equipment, food safety science and quality control, as well as agriculture and food industry development strategy.
