KUST Successfully Holds the 9th Gala of Sino-Foreign Teachers and Students

On the evening of December 23, the 9th Gala of Sino-Foreign Teachers and Students of KUST was held in the Hongtu Hall at Chenggong Campus. Teachers and students from more than 20 countries including China, Russia, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Laos gathered together to welcome the arrival of 2020. Many heads attended the party, including TIAN Jun, Vice Chair of KUST University Council, President Assistant WANG Nengmin, representatives of consulates of Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos in Kunming, and heads of some enterprises such as China Southern Power Grid and Yunnan Shengmao Investment Co., Ltd. as well.



On behalf of KUST, Vice Chair TIAN Jun extended the New Year's greetings to the guests and all teachers and students. He introduced that KUST has enrolled more than 1700 foreign students of all kinds in 2019, ranking the 72nd in the whole country in terms of the number of foreign students. The smooth operation of the Confucius Institute jointly established by KUST and Souphanouvong University in Laos, the launch of the newly-built Copenhagen Business Confucius Classroom in Denmark, and the smooth progress of the joint training programs for overseas students in cooperation with a number of well-known enterprises, which all demonstrate the influence of KUST in international education.



This  gala for Chinese and foreign teachers and students is the cultural brand project of KUST, which has been held for eight consecutive sessions and has received extensive attention from all walks of life and the media. A total of 160 Chinese and foreign teachers and students from 16 countries made their performances on the stage at the gala, including traditional ethnic songs and dances from various countries, recitation of ancient Chinese poems, calligraphy and tea art performances, etc. The performances, full of diverse cultural atmosphere, integrated the feelings of compatriots, teachers and students. The gala is not only a stage for Chinese and foreign teachers and students to show the unique cultural customs and charm of different countries and regions, but also a bridge to deepen friendship and strengthen exchanges of each other.


On December 25, it was reported that KUST held a Gala of Sino-foreign  teachers and students on 03 News Edition of the People's Daily.
