The 2019 Panel Discussion of Universities Science Park Alliance of Southwest China Held in KUST

On December 19, the 2019 Panel Discussion of National Science Park Alliance of Southwest China and the Industry-University-Research Cooperation Matchmaking Meeting in Wuhua District was held in C.C.Wu Hall, KUST Lianhua Campus. KUST Vice President WU Tao attended the meeting and delivered a speech. More than 50 main staffs from science and technology parks of 23 universities like Sichuan University, Chongqing University attended the meeting. GUO Ying, Deputy Director of Wuhua District, and officials in charge of Bureau of Science and Technology and Information in Wuhua District participated in the industry-university-research cooperation matchmaking meeting. LIU Shuangquan, Secretary-General of the National Science Park Alliance of Southwest China and Secretary of the Party Committee of Chongqing Beibei National Science Park, chaired the meeting.



WU Tao stated that the National Science Park is an important carrier for the universities to carry out services for high-tech business, training of innovative entrepreneurs and talents, and the transfer of scientific and technological achievements. It is also an important engine for regional economic development and industry technological progress. He hoped that the National Science Park will continue to strengthen exchanges, mutual learning and cooperation between members of the alliance, accelerate the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, and actively promote the construction and development of a modern economic system.



During the meeting, LI Lin, Chairman of the Southwest National Science Parks Alliance, briefly summarized the alliance's main work done in 2019 and the plan for the new year, 2020.


Members of the alliance, including the National Science Park of KUST, respectively introduced the status of the science park they represent and the progress of the advantageous projects. They also held heated discussions on the two pieces of document Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Innovative Development of the National Science Parks and Measures for the Administration of the National Science Parks issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, as well as on the characteristic practices of the high-quality development of the National Science Parks in the new era.



GUO Ying, Deputy Director of Wuhua District, introduced the economic and social development and advantageous industries of Wuhua District to the participants. She hopes that Wuhua District and the Southwest National Science Park Alliance can help strengthen the cooperation between universities and regions, deepen the cooperation and exchange of production, advance industry-university-research cooperation, make good use of each other's advantages, and realize mutual benefit and win-win.


After the meeting, the participants visited the former site of the Southwest Associated University, Museum of the Southwest Associated University and Museum of Geosciences of KUST.
