From October 21st through 25th, the 2019 International Conference on Power Engineering" (hereinafter referred to as "ICOPE-2019") jointly sponsored and organized by China Society of Power Engineering (CSPE), Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) was held in Kunming. The conference was hosted by China Society of Power Engineering and jointly hosted by KUST and Zhejiang University. Nearly 300 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and other countries gathered together to conduct academic exchanges on global energy issues.

Prof. MA Wenhui, Vice President of KUST, attended the conference and delivered a welcome speech in which he briefed KUST and its contributions to scientific research, talents training and industrial development in the field of energy and power engineering in recent years.

Prof. WANG Hua of KUST presided over the opening ceremony. Prof. NI Mingjiang, chairman of the conference, delivered the opening remarks. Mr. HUANG Dinan, chairman of China Society of Power Engineering, Dr. JUN Inumaru, chairman of power branch of Japan Society of Mechanical Engineering, and Mr. Frank Michelle, chairman of the branch of American Society of Mechanical Engineering, delivered welcoming speeches respectively.

The Conference consisted of six plenary lectures and 27 sub-conference keynote speeches. Experts and scholars from different countries presented 247 papers, covering the latest research in the fields of advanced energy systems, fuel utilization and chemical chain technology, boilers and turbines, generators, energy conversion and cogeneration and heat pumps, environmental protection, pollution control numerical simulation, heat and mass transfer, new energy and new materials, hydro power, energy storage and other fields, as well as the latest progress and future development trends in relevant international disciplines.

The Conference has successfully promoted the exchange of research in the field of international power engineering between experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from a number of countries, strengthened international cooperation and friendship, and promoted the development of global power and energy.
