The Delegation of “China InnoTour for Indian Young Scientists” Visiting KUST

On September 24, the 20-person delegation of the “China InnoTour for Indian Young Scientists” visited KUST. President Assistant Prof. WANG Nengmin met the Indian delegation on Chenggong campus. Attendees of the meeting were representatives from Science and Technology Department of Yunnan Province, and some directors, deans and professors from a variety of divisions and faculties of KUST, including Division of Overseas Cooperation, Academy of Science and Technology, Institute for Innovation and Development Research, Faculty of Life Science and Technology, Medical School, Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering, Faculty of Environmental Science and Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and  Faculty of Sciences.



President Assistant WANG Nengmin expressed a warm welcome on behalf of KUST to the delegation and briefly introduced the general information about KUST’s international exchange and cooperation and the cooperation and exchanges between KUST and India. He hoped that scientists, especially young scientists from the two sides, will commit more communication and exchanges, establish friendship and carry out cooperation in an active way so as to make due contributions to the development of both sides and win-win cooperation between China and India. Dr. Chandra Shekhar SHARMA from India Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad), head of the delegation, said he was very pleased to visit KUST which now employs Indian experts and postdocs, thus laying a great foundation for future cooperation between two universities. The disciplinary settings of KUST are in line with the research fields of the delegation members. He hoped that they can have a stronger connection with experts and scholars of KUST in relevant fields and actively carry out the cooperation and exchange between India and China.


The “China InnoTour for Indian Young Scientists” is approved and supported by the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Chinese Embassy in India. The Tour aims to integrate into and serve the Belt and Road Initiative in an active manner, promote cooperation between China and South Asian countries in the field of scientific and technological innovation, and to further enhance cultural exchanges and cooperation between young scientists of China and those of South Asian countries. It is also intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation between China and India in the fields of technology transfer and innovation cooperation, thus establishing a long-term cooperation mechanism between the two sides.
