1st Chinese University Rankings for Sci. & Tech. Contributions Released: KUST Ranks 49th in China

In June, the Institute for Lande Technology & Education Evaluation at Z-park held a conference in Dayuan (Beijing) to release the research report of evaluations of university contributions to science and technology. It officially launched the First Chinese University Rankings for Scientific and Technological Contributions (2019) and KUST ranked 49th among all of the universities.


The ranking released a total of 200 universities, including 76 subordinate universities and 124 local universities. Among the top 50 universities, all are subordinate universities affiliated to different national ministries with the exception of Kunming University of Science and Technology, Suzhou University, Beijing University of Technology, Yangzhou University and Zhejiang University of Technology.


The evaluation index system of university contributions to science and technology includes six first-level index covering top-level achievements, achievements transformation, high-level achievements, leading talents, young talents and high-level talents, and 15 second-level index. The ranking serves the national strategy of talents cultivation and emphasizes that the scientific and technological contributions of universities should be in line with the development of economy and society, the drive of scientific and technological innovation, and the emergence of highly skilled talents of the new era.
