Vice President Yang Bin Attended 2nd Yunnan-South and Southeast Asia Cooperation Education Forum

On June 11, Vice President YANG Bin led a team to attend the 2nd Yunnan-South Asia and Southeast Asia Cooperation Education Forum. At the Forum,  Vice President Yang Bin briefed KUST’s open and mutual learning as well as cooperation in running schools to H. E. YANG Baojian, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, ZHOU Rong, Director General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, ZHU Huashan, Deputy Director General of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and other foreign senior officials including Tang Kun, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Winton Kopan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, and Braca Khun Chamtalaqi, Deputy Secretary-General of Vocational Education Committee of Ministry of Education of Thailand. KUST's School of International Education was on site answering questions about students studying in China and exchange students. KUST's Division of Overseas Cooperation and Faculty of Art and Communication also participated in the forum.

 

 

The 2nd Yunnan-South Asia and Southeast Asia Cooperation Education Forum, with the theme of "Mutual Trust, Cooperation and Common Development", consists of one forum, one education exhibition and one sports meeting. As the organizer of the “sports meeting”, KUST held the soccer and volleyball friendly match between the sports delegations of the universities from South Asian and Southeast Asian countries. Oxbridge College of KUST hosted "one forum" of Yunnan-Italy Higher Education Cooperation sub-forum, with 100 Yunnan universities and overseas universities being invited to take part in the education exhibitions.

 

The Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government attach great importance to the opening of education to the outside world. The second Yunnan-South Asia and Southeast Asia Cooperation Education Forum is to give full play to the advantage of Yunnan's opening location adjacent to South Asia and Southeast Asia and actively take part in and make contributions to the "Belt and Road Initiative". By building around the radiation center facing Southeast Asia and Southeast Asia, this forum is also to further expand the scope of opening-up, raise it to a higher level, cooperate with world-class resources in running schools, expand and deepen cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and strengthen educational exchanges and cooperation with South Asia and Southeast Asia and developed countries in Europe and the United States.
