Deputy Director-General FANG Jun Visits KUST

On June 10, accompanied by the heads of the Division of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, Mr. FANG Jun, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education visited KUST. President WANG Xueqin, and Vice President YANG Bin attended the meeting. Responsible persons of the President Office, the Division of Overseas Cooperation and School of International Education were also present.


At the meeting, President WANG Xueqin warmly welcomed Deputy Director-General FANG Jun to visit KUST. After being briefly introduced the foreign exchanges and cooperation KUST has conducted in recent years by the head of the Division of Overseas Cooperation, the Deputy Director-General FANG Jun highly approved the achievements KUST has made in this regard and put forward suggestions and expectations for the future development in international cooperation.




During the visit, Deputy Director-General FANG Jun attended a meeting with representatives of Chinese government scholarship students from Lancang and Mekong countries. By conducting in-depth talks with foreign students from Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, FANG Jun learned about their life and study in KUST and asked them how they thought about the scholarship provided by the Ministry of Education. He encouraged the foreign students to study hard and gain a better understanding about Chinese culture. After the meeting, Deputy Director-General FANG Jun visited the foreign students' apartments, participated in the Foreign Student Food Culture Festival held by KUST, tasted the food made by foreign students and visited the international student activity corridor. He then went to the sports ground to watch the men's football final of the 3rd Lancang-Mekong College Students’ Goodwill Games.
