The 3rd Lancang-Mekong College Students’ Goodwill Games Concluded at KUST

On the afternoon of June 11, one sub-forum of the Second Yunnan-South Asia and Southeast Asian Educational Cooperation Forum----the Award and Closing Ceremony of The 3rd Lancang-Mekong College Students’ Goodwill Games and The 5th South & Southeast Asia College Student Culture and Sports Week - Kunming  was held at KUST Chenggong Campus.

 

LIU Jinghui, former Secretary General of the China Scholarship Council and Chair of the International Student Management Branch of the China Institute of Higher Education, Zhang Yingjie, secretary of the party committee of KUST, Zheng Yi, Deputy Director General of the Provincial Department of Education of Yunnan Province, and KUST Vice President Xia Xueshan attended the closing ceremony.

 

 

 

Secretary ZHANG Yingjie delivered a speech. On behalf of KUST, she expressed her heartfelt congratulations to all the teachers and students from Bangladesh, India, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Pakistan, Myanmar, and the fraternal colleges and universities in our province her sincere appreciations to all the staff and student volunteers who helped to hold this event successfully.

 

She hoped that young people from all countries would sow seeds of friendship with sweat and laughter with the help of The 3rd Lancang-Mekong College Students’ Goodwill Games and The 5th South & Southeast Asia College Student Culture and Sports Week - Kunming . In the future, the seeds will grow into a leafy and fruitful tree of friendship.

 

At the award ceremony, the referee of the Games read out the final results of the competition and the list of winners.

 

The top six winners of Women's Volleyball Matches are Yunnan Normal University,  Team 1 of KUST, National University of Singapore, Yunnan University, Team 2 of KUST, School of Foreign Languages of Taiyuan University of Vietnam.

 

The top eight winners of Men's Volleyball Matches are t Team 1 of KUST, the Royal University of Technology in Bangkok, Laos, Team 2 of KUST, the Royal University of Technology in Thailand, the International College of KUST, the University of Economics and Business Administration of Taiyuan University in Vietnam, and the University of Shawan Najib in Laos.

 

The top eight winners of Men's Football Matches are Taiyuan University of Communication and Information Technology in Vietnam, International College of KUST, Yunnan Normal University, Team A of KUST, Souphanouvong University of Laos, SKU of Shawan Naji University of Laos, Team A of KUST, Mandalay University of Myanmar.

 

At the award party, the students from Karakoram University in Pakistan sang the traditional Pakistani folk song "Your sweet love"  which is a touching love story; the "charm Myanmar" dance performed by the students from KUST demonstrated the national styles of eight ethnic groups in Myanmar and the yearning of the Burmese people for a better life.
