Ministers and Consuls from Embassies of Southeast Asian Countries Visited KUST

On the morning of May 30, Raphael, Chief of Political Section of the Philippine Embassy in China, SU Yade, Consul (Education) of the Indonesian Embassy in China, Consul (Education) of the Malaysian Embassy in China and ZHOU Gonghui, Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, relevant responsible persons of Yunnan University, Yunnan Normal University, Yunnan Minzu University, Kunming Medical University, Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as ZHANG Xianbao, the Mayor of Chenggong District and his team visited KUST Chenggong campus. Vice President YANG Bin attended the meeting along with the heads and relevant staff from the Division of Overseas Cooperation and School of International Education.

 

 

At the meeting, Vice President YANG Bin extended warm welcome to the ministers and consuls, the leaders of universities in Chenggong and the heads of Chenggong District. He also gave a detailed introduction of the cooperation KUST had with South and Southeast Asia in scientific research, school-running and overseas personnel training in recent years. He highlighted the fact that KUST has been thoroughly implementing the national "Belt and Road Initiative", actively integrating high-quality educational resources, promoting the transfer and transformation of scientific research achievements, actively engaging in the international cooperation and exchanges in higher education level and has attached great importance to cooperation and exchanges with South and Southeast Asia and Western regions.

 

The guests introduced the current situations of higher education in their countries and carried out in-depth exchanges in areas including human health, educational development, human sustainable development and environmental science.

 

Vice President YANG Bin stressed that the visit has created a good opportunity for KUST to deepen exchanges and cooperation with South and Southeast Asian countries. It is hoped that communication and exchanges in scientific research, school running, personnel training and cultural exchanges will be further strengthened.

 

After the meeting, accompanied by Vice President YANG Bin, the guests visited the KUST Library and the History Museum.
