Yunnan Daily: KUST Drives the Development of Yunnan Hydropower and Silicon Integration

The front page ofYunnan Daily inserted an article the speeding ofHydropower and Silicon Integration development on March 29th. It reported that KUST pushed forward the development of Yunnan Hydropower and Silicon Integration and forged a Silicon industry innovation system, which brings together the government, enterprises, universities, research institutes and consumers.

 

The report shows that Yunnan Province gives a full play to the basic advantages of clean energy and industrial silicon industry to explore, build silicon photovoltaic, silicon electronics and silicon chemical industrial chains and widely applied “Photovoltaic +” to build a layout of Hydropower and Silicon Integration themed “One core industrial area, two belts, four bases” under the great attention of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. The layout focuses on strengthening technological system innovation to continually increase the internal impetus of industrial development. KUST takes a lead to establish Yunnan Province Silicon Industry Research Institute, Innovation Center and Silicon Industry Engineering Research Center uniting with current platforms like universities and key enterprises inside and outside the province, and relying on the international cooperative laboratory of silicon materials, National Solar Quality Inspection Center, etc. There are two projects, which are the outfield intensification and separation of recycled silicon and demonstration of key technologies of high-purity silicon preparation as well as the basic research of outfield intensification and separation photovoltaic solid waste multiphase complex system, having been included in National Key R&D Program. Besides, these projects also won one joint fund program and three projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China.

 

    It is reported that Professor MA Wenhui of KUST is the project leader of the outfield intensification and separation of recycled silicon and demonstration of key technologies of high-purity silicon preparation project, and Professor WEI Kuixian of KUST is the project leader of the basic research of outfield intensification and separation photovoltaic solid waste multiphase complex system. These projects are subtopics of the project of solid waste recycling "special" lithium battery / photovoltaic emerging inorganic solid waste full-component recycling technology and demonstration(2018YFC19018), which is “13th Five-Year Plan” National Key R&D Program.
