Opening Ceremony of 8th Training Program of High Quality Chinese Education for Thai Students Held

On the morning of March 2nd, KUST held the opening ceremony of the Eighth Training Program of High Quality Chinese Education for Thai High School Students on Chenggong Campus. Mr. Varasak, Chairman of the Thai-Chinese Education Exchange Center, Mr. Zulia, Headmaster of Kanjanapisek Witthayalai Nakhonphathom, the teachers from Kanjanapisek Witthayalai Nakhonphathom, and the leaders of School of International Education of KUST attended the opening ceremony.



Mr. Varasak and Mr. Zulia respectively delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and expressed their expectations and support for the Program. They expected that education cooperation between Thailand and China will be developed steadily, further cooperation can be done between the two, and Thai students can take the BA undergraduate programs at KUST in the future after they reach the required Chinese proficiency for the programs. The leaders of School of Internal Education of KUST expressed in the speech at the opening ceremony that KUST will carry out the project earnestly to ensure the smooth progress of the Program.


Since the Program was initiated in 2012, seven sessions have been successfully carried out in KUST. A total of nearly 600 Thai students from dozens of high schools in Thailand have been offered Chinese courses. After six months of intensive Chinese training, the students have achieved remarkable proficiency in Chinese, most of whom have reached HSK Level Three. This Program has a wide-ranging influence in Thailand, which is highly appreciated by relevant institutions of the Ministry of Education of Thailand.


The seventh sessions of the Program was successfully concluded in September 2018, which was highly recognized by the Thai authorities, the parents and the students. In this eighth session, eight-two Thai high school students, including all the eleven grades of Kanjanapisek Witthayalai Nakhonphathom and students from another two Thai middle schools, will participate in the Program.
