1st Chinese Language Teaching Site of Confucius Institute at Souphanouvong University Launched

On October 15th, the Confucius Institute of Souphanouvong University in Laos launched a Chinese language course at the College of Economics and Tourism. Approximately 200 students registered the course and they will be divided into four classes for the Chinese learning.


College of Economics and Tourism is the first college offering the Chinese language as an elective course at Souphanouvong University. Teachers of Confucius Institute have made specific Chinese teaching programs and featured course syllabus for the students. The Confucius Institute is now making greater effort to consult with others colleges at Souphanouvong University to offer the Chinese language as a selective course to more university students, thus making Chinese a more widely registered course at Souphanouvong University.




Confucius Institute at Souphanouvong University was reported to be launched officially on July 13th, 2018, in partnership with Kunming University of Science and Technology. For wider recognition and popularity, the Confucius Institute has been working on expanding cooperation with local communities, schools and enterprises, and promoting Chinese language and culture through Chinese teaching, thus laying a solid foundation for its sustainable progress.


Confucius Institute is a non-profit public educational organization affiliated with China’s Ministry of Education. It was launched in 2004 with the aim of promoting Chinese language and culture internationally.
