To match up with the reformation of talent-training mode, to further improve the student’s comprehensive quality and intercultural communication competence and to broaden the horizons of outstanding students with financial difficulties, KUST carried out the 4th Exchange Program with University Putra Malaysia(UPM)for Outstanding Students with Financial Difficulties from May 20th to June 3rd. After the application, recommendation and selection, Division of Student Administration, Division of Overseas Cooperation, and School of International Education selected 23 students for this activity, which made a great success.

During the learning exchanges activity, the students completed Malaysian language courses, English courses, and Malaysian cultural experience courses arranged by UPM, and visited UPM's campus, library, golf course, Malaysian Museum, National Administration Center, as well as School of the Environment, Language Institute and School of Engineering. After all, they had interactions and exchanges with teachers and students, and learned about the different education modes, local customs and campus culture.

After two-week exchanges activities, these students broadened their horizons, improved their ability of English listening and speaking, their intercultural communication competence, which laid a good foundation for their future. The continuous development of the exchanges program also provides a good way for KUST to further advance the international exchanges.
