International Green Chemical Engineering Summit 2018 & 1st National CPI Conference held at KUST

From May 12th to 13th, the International Green Chemical Engineering Summit 2018 and the 1st National Chemical Engineering Process Intensification Conference held by Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (IESC) were successfully convened in Kunming. The forum was jointly hosted by the Department of Chemical, Metallurgy and Material Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, co-organized by Beijing University of Chemical Technology, North University of China and Chemical Industry Press, and organized by the Chemical Engineering Process Intensification(CPI) Professional Committee of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC) and Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST). More than 400 people attended the conference, including members of CAE and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, experts, scholars, researchers, and company representatives at home and abroad.

 

 

 

The opening ceremony was chaired by academician CHEN Jianfeng, the executive chairman of the conference. The academicians seated in the front row on the rostrum were SHU Xingtian, HU Yongkang, QIAN Xuhong, WEI Yang, XIE Zaiku and ZHU Jingxu. HUA Wei, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CIESC, ZHOU Weibin, President of Chemical Industry Press, and WANG Xueqin, President of KUST attended the opening ceremony.

 

 

 

In the following one-and-a-half days, experts and scholars delivered reports on the conference centering around the subjects including environmentally friendly catalysis, comprehensive utilization of resources, high gravity reaction and separation, fractionation intensification, micro-chemical technology, intensification of heat transfer, intensification of extraction, intensification of membrane, intensification of procedural security, intensification of catalytic process, intensification of polymerization, intensification of reactor(equipment), intensification of coupled systems and intensification of external field synergy including chemical processing of plasma, chemical processing of microwave, chemical processing of ultrasonic.

MEI Yi, professor at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of KUST made a report entitled Roadmap of Phosphorus Chemical Industry's Green Circulation Technology at the first venue.

Guided by the spirit of the 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China, the conference aims to advance the sustainable development of China's chemical industry by innovation. It addresses the urgent needs closely relating to process safety and environmental protection, and elaborates on the cutting-edge technologies and key technologies of chemical engineering process intensification, conforming to the policy of Made in China 2015 and the five development ideas which are innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing. The successful organization of the conference promotes better exchange and cooperation between production, learning and research, and the integration of multiple disciplines, and thus effectively improves the services in the upgrading technology and transformation of the green chemical industry and chemical engineering process intensification.
