KUST Marathon Club Performed Well in Kunming Plateau Half Marathon 2018

At 8:30 am on April 14,the first round of thematic competition series “Run in Beautiful China”--Kunming Plateau Half Marathon 2018 kicked off. Led by Prof. YANG Bin, Vice President of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), more than 60 teachers and students from KUST Marathon Club participated in the march with nearly 15,000 athletes and marathon amateurs from home and abroad.

All the players from KUST have finished the race safely. Among them, postgraduate LI Ming from theFaculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineeringgot a score of 77(ranked 11th internationally) and WANG Xinghong from the Medical School 84. Besides, there were 6 alumni of KUST served as the official pacers.

The KUST Marathon Club aims to encourage more students to walk out of the dormitory, set foot on the track, thus strengthen their bodies and sharpen their will. Since its establishment, the club, greatly supported by university leaders at all levels, and teachers and students of the entire university, has attracted more than 200 members. More and more people enjoy running in the campus. The club will organize more high quality long-distance running activities and always warmly welcome teachers, students and schoolfellows to join it.
