On February 27, 2018, 39 teachers and students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic came to Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) for one month culture experiencing. It is the sixth time that KUST has received overseas students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Since 2015, KUST has received a total of 314 students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with different nationalities such as Singapore, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan and Indonesia. As exchanges between China and The-Belt-and-Road countries grow, KUST is paying increasing attention to internationalization. In cooperation with Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the School of International Education of KUST has been successfully implementing this short-term cultural exchange program.  Ngee Ann Polytechnic will send two groups of teachers and students to KUST every spring and autumn, aiming to increase their experiences in China and their understanding of Chinese traditional culture. In this month, KUST will arrange various cultural courses for the students and organize visits to such places as Yunnan Provincial Museum, Guandu Old Town, Stone Forest, Dali Prefecture and Lijiang County.

Founded in 1963, Ngee Ann Polytechnic is one of the five institutes of science and technology established by the Singapore government. The school covers an area of 35.4 hectares, with a total of 14800 full-time students and 1800 faculty members. In order to provide the students opportunities to experience different cultural and educational systems in the world and to broaden their global visions, Ngee Ann Polytechnic sends more than 1300 students to study and practice overseas each year, among whom about 1200 come to China.
