KUST Participated in Yunnan Higher Education Exhibition & International Cooperation Forum

From January 27 to February 5, Yunnan Higher Education Exhibition & International Cooperation Forum, sponsored by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education was held in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka, attracting 16 universities from Yunnan province. YANG Bin, Vice President of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), together with director of KUST Division of Overseas Cooperation expanded much cooperation in the forum.

On behalf of KUST, Vice President YANG Bin signed memorandums of cooperation respectively with Southeast University (Bangladesh), Techno India Univeristy (India), and Industrial Technology Institute (Sri Lanka). It is confirmed that KUST will cooperate with Southeast University in student exchange and scholarship selection, develop cooperation with Techno India Univeristy in short-term exchange of students, 2+2 projects and scientific research, and work with Industrial Technology Institute to build a clean energy technology research center and a China-Sri Lanka International Technology Transfer Center.

In addition, KUST delegation visited University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, Indian Institutes of Information Technology, Indian University of Political Science and Law, University of Colombo, the Open University of Sri Lanka and other institutions and universities.

Participating in the Exhibition is an important event of KUST 's  responsiveness to the provincial government's strategy of making Yunnan a center facing South-East Asia and the call of "Belt and Road Initiative." Through the exhibition, KUST has gained more cooperative partners in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka, promoted educational and scientific cooperation, and expanded the international influence in South Asia.
