Mr. Yvon VELOT Visited KUST Faculty of Aeronautics

On December 25, Mr. Yvon VELOT (PEI Yifeng), consultant to the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance, expert of Anti-Japanese War history, visited Faculty of Aeronautics of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) and had a symposium with the faculty heads, companied by Mr. CHEN Xiufeng, consultant to the Cultural and Historical Records Committee of Kunming Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and deputy secretary-general of Yunnan Flying Tigers Research Institute, and Dr. YIN Lun, researcher of Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences.

At the symposium, the heads of the Faculty of Aeronautics extended warm welcome to three guests and expressed gratitude to Yunnan Flying Tigers Research Institute for helping the faculty during its establishment. They also introduced the history and cultural development of the faculty and ideas for its future development in the aeronautical culture. The guests introduced the history of Sino-France cooperation, the Flying Tigers and the Yunnan School of Aeronautics during the Anti-Japanese War and provided relevant information. Mr. Yvon VELOT also introduced aviation-related majors in France. As a result, both sides decided to further Sino-France exchange and step up the cooperation in cultural construction and research of aviation history, especially to jointly hold relevant activities in 2018, the 100thanniversary of Yunnan School of Aeronautics.

After the symposium, the guests visited the exhibition hall of the Flying Tigers and of Yunnan Educational History, and relevant laboratories as well.
