The 7th KUST International Collegiate Evening Gala Concludes Successfully

On the evening of Dec 21, the 7th International Collegiate Evening Gala hosted by School of International Education (SIE), Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) concluded successfully at Hall of Hongtu on Chenggong campus. Distinguished guests attending the gala included  the Consul-General of Malaysia, the Consul-General of Bangladesh, the Deputy Consul-General of Thailand, the Consul of Myanmar, the Vice Consul of Laos, the Secretary of the Consul-General of Cambodia, and the representatives from Foreign Affairs Office of People’s Government of Yunnan Province. KUST Vice Presidents, Prof. ZHOU Fengyue, Prof. YANG Bin and other faculty members attended the gala. Over 1,500 international students from 44 countries celebrated this event with KUST teachers and Chinese students to usher in the New Year.

Prof. YANG Bin delivered an opening speech on behalf of KUST. He commended the internationalization progress of KUST and hoped that every KUSTer would become cultural envoy and builder of friendly relationship between China and foreign countries.

 

 

Students and teachers from China, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Pakistan, Cuba, Madagascar and other countries brought wonderful performances. The Latin American dance Latin Fire presented by Cuban students thrilled the audience. And the enthusiasm was followed by the Passionate Island presented by Madagascan students, Tambourine Chorus by SIE teachers and traditional musical instruments performance Blue and White Porcelain by Chinese students. Finally the gala ended up with a chorus I Love You, China in a cheerful atomsphere.
