KUST Party Secretary Prof. ZHANG Yingjie Visits KUST Alumni in Sydney

On December 11th, a delegation of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) led by Prof. ZHANG Yingjie, Secretary of CPC KUST Committee visited University of Wollongong (UOW), Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (RMIT) in Australia.

Prof. ZHANG Yingjie visited Chinese scholars living in Australia and KUST alumni representatives such as Dr. HUANG Jun. She made a brief​ introduction to KUST’s recent development and highly commended achievements made by alumni in Australia. She said that KUST always value and support alumni and she hoped alumni make contribution to the internalization of KUST. The alumni present expressed their fond feelings for their Alma Mater and proposed that an internationalization workstation should be set up in Sydney to promote scientific research and academic cooperation between KUST and Australian top universities. Prof. ZHANG Yingjie appreciated the proposal and required the Division of Overseas Cooperation to take effective measures to utilize the international alumni resources and introduce excellent overseas alumni and other talents to KUST.

Prof. ZHANG Yingjie also visited Prof. ZHANG Xiaolong, deputy dean of KUST Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, who is now a visiting scholar at University of Sydney.
