KUST Chief Guest Prof. Jan Dean Miller Receiving Yunnan Friendship Award

Recently, People’s Government of Yunnan Province granted Yunnan Friendship Award to ten foreign experts. Dr. Jan Dean Miller, Chief Guest Professor of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST), member of American National Academy of Engineering (NAE), is granted 2017 Yunnan Friendship Award. Yunnan Provincial Governor RUAN Chengfa granted certification to the ten foreign experts on the afternoon of Nov. 20 at the award ceremony held in Kunming.

Governor RUAN Chengfa spoke highly of foreign experts' contribution  to the economy, society and culture of Yunnan Province. He pointed out that People’s Government of Yunnan Province spares no effort in attracting more talented people from all over the world and putting them to full use when implementing strategy of invigorating the province by human resource development. Many foreign experts have been invited to Yunnan with their innovation and entrepreneurship, which in return helps to further international exchange and cooperation of Yunnan Province.  

Yunnan Friendship Award is the highest honor set up by People’s Government of Yunnan Province to commend foreign experts who have contributed greatly to the economy and society of Yunnan Province. The 2017 awardees from nine different countries including Germany, USA, Ireland, Australia, UK and etc., are excellent representatives of the 5000 foreign experts working in Yunnan Province.
