Vice President WANG Hua and KUST Delegation visit Universities in Laos and Thailand

     From July 24 to 30, Prof. WANG Hua,Vice President of Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST),led adelegationto visit several universities in Laos and Thailand.

On July 24, the delegation visited National University of Laos. Both sides agreed to accomplish the contract-signing and launch ofSino-Laos Scientific Innovation and Sustainable Development Research Centerwithin this year. Furthermore,  representatives of the two universities renewed their cooperation agreement on joint doctoral programs, thus strengthening the relationship between the two universities.

On July 26, the delegation visited Souphanouvong University of Laos. Representatives of the two universities reached a consensus over such important issues as educating model, curriculum, teaching mode and the degree management and granting system of the joint program for Master of Business Administration (MBA). Both sides signed the memorandum of understanding for the next five years.

On July 27, the delegation visited Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna.Representatives of the two universitiesinaugurated the “Sino-Thailand School of Robot and Artificial Intelligence” and “Sino-Thailand Robot and Artificial Intelligence R&D Center”. They also discussed the details of cooperating mechanism, operatingmodel, student training and joint research of the Center.

On July 29,the delegation visited Naresuan University of Thailand (NU). Both sides agreed to construct somecooperative platforms jointly such as the “KUST-NU Chinese Training Center”, “KUST-NU Renewable Energy School and Research Institute”, “KUST-NU Logistics and Supply Chain School and Research Institute”. The two sides agreed that the Schoolof Renewable Energy Technology of Naresuan University would visit the related schools of KUST in Septemberto signcooperation agreements on the joint graduate educating model and research projects.

On the morning of July 30,the delegation visited Dhurakij Pundit University. The two sides reviewed the development of KUST-DPU Chinese International College (KDCIC) in the last seven years, and highly acknowledged the achievements of the program. They also discussed the joint student education in the fields of aviation, transportation and logistics, business administration, etc. Both sides agreed to enhance the communication and cooperation.


On the afternoon of July 30, invited by Dr. Worasak Watcharakamtorn, Secretary General of Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education of Thailand, the delegation visited the overseas locations foreducational cooperationprogramsinChonburi Industrial Park,the Eastern Economic Corridorin Thailand. They had an in-depth discussion with Dr. Worasak Watcharakamtorn about the related polices and possibility ofeducationalcooperation. After the talk withDr. Jiraphon, Assistant President ofSpartan Universityin Thailand, KUST andSpartan Universityreached an intention of cooperation on issues such as student exchanges, joint education and joint construction of science and technology development center for theIndustrial Park.
